On this episode, financial journalist Govindraj Ethiraj talks to Dharmakirti Joshi, Chief Economist at CRISIL. With over 30 years experience in economic research and consultancy, Mr Joshi's career began in NCAER where he spent 11 years. He then moved on to senior positions in Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, New Delhi and currently CRISIL (An S&P Global Company).He has extensive experience in macroeconomic analysis, medium term assessment of Indian economy and forecasting as well as in public finance issues at the central and state levels. He has been a consultant to the state governments on fiscal issues.

At CRISIL he has been involved in consulting assignments which cover demand forecasting and assessing the macro economic scenario and its implication for the corporate clients. He has also been involved in analysing and monitoring the impact of macro economic shocks on the economy. He has been a part of the faculty that trains senior regulatory officials from the South Asia region. He is also the co-chairman of Economic Affairs Committee of Bombay Chamber of Commerce. He often writes for leading newspapers and expresses his views on the economy on TV and in various other online and offline forums.
